If our motive is about our fears, and not the overall picture of justice--then perhaps we pause. Do I want to align myself with the cause enough to suffer alongside of it? Acting within community, through the mystery of Christ, for solutions for healing and hope. Nicodemus didn't intervene to prevent Christ from dying--though he showed up to claim his body. He also depended upon Jesus to calm him even in the midst of Jesus's own pain. Learning to heal and liberate is a communal work. Sermon begins at 9:27.
